Hey everybody. We added a new forum feature today (something fun hopefully).:)

Don't want to give the surprise away by saying what it is;)...but take a look at the red NavBar found at the top of any forum page.

Have fun,:)

Works fine here Harry with my Apple wireless keyboard. Did you setup the parameters of the game first?

Do all games require Flash?
I thought Flash was on the way out with HTML5.

I tried Tetris and Breakout - two old ones I like but haven't played for years.
But the two browsers I use block access because of Flash.

Oh well.....need to find something else to have fun.

They are all working here. Just a note.

I too am unable to shoot using the space bar in Space Invaders, the directional keys work fine just can't shoot back. How do I set the "parameters" of the game?

All of the other games work well, still have a problem with space bar and Space Invaders. Even updated Flash which I haven't done for a long time but to no avail.

The only game I have tried so far is Space Invaders since it's the one people have had issues with. What I am using here to play it so far is:

2010 27" iMac i7 with High Sierra fully updated with an older Apple Wireless keyboard which came with these iMacs. Using Safari

Also tried it on older 20" 2008 C2D iMac using Chrome and Apple large USB wired keyboard.

Everything works here. Will try it on my MacBook Pro later as that seems to be a machine where people have had issues.

Some updates for mobile visitors:

1. All of the games are flash based...and most mobile devices/mobile apps...don't support flash. But...there is a solution. To play the (flash-based) Arcade games on Mac-Forums...or to access any flash-based internet content...download & use the "Puffin" browser for mobile devices (it supports flash).

2. In my testing with the Puffin browser & the Mac-Forums Arcade...there's a full screen option that can be selected.
3. There's a "..." settings button in the lower right area of the window where you can select different input methods. I choose the "Gamepad" option.
4. Some games work better than others.
5. I couldn't figure out an input method to get Tetris to work (my testing wasn't extensive...so there may be a way)...but Space Invaders works great (I didn't test all the games).
6. More games will be added...hopefully they will work better via mobile.

This is primarily an update for mobile visitors...when visiting Mac-Forums via computer...everything works well for most users.:)

But more adding games in the near future applies to all visitors (computer & mobile based).:)

Thanks

p.s. The Puffin browser is available in the App Store for iPhone/iPad. There's a Puffin browser version for Android device users as well (Google Play Store).

That would be good, I really liked space invaders. Just can’t get the spacebar to work.

UPDATE: It works perfectly on Chrome. I'm wondering about the Flash Player Plugin. It has a different icon on Chrome when it asks if I want to allow it to run, even though I updated it on the adobe site to Ver 32 I think.

UPDATE: It works perfectly on Chrome.

If you're referring to Chrome on computer...the games do work fine on computers (for the most part). The games don't work at all on mobile devices with most browsers...until it was discovered that the games do work with the Puffin browser for mobile devices (since Puffin supports flash).

Yes...members not using ad blockers see this all the time. It's the "normal" appearance of the site.:)

Oh! Golly, guess I’ve been using an ad blocker for quite a while then.

Too many...
This is a fun addition. I noticed that gameplay quality greatly changes depending on the version of Macbook keyboard, which isn't unusual but I wasn't expecting the slight delay during quick button changes when plays Snake.

This is a fun addition.

Wanted it to be a fun diversion from the usually serious/semi-serious Q&A...even get a little competition going for high scores. There is the tournament feature...which may be fun to figure out & use.:)

Yeah the Snake game is a bit difficult...and probably only gets harder the further you get into the game. Got to sort of anticipate where you want to go & tap the keyboard before you visually get there.

If anyone has any game requests...please post them...and will do the best to find them. Probably won't be able to find exact titles...but can find similar "style" games.

- Card games (solitaire)
- Candy Crush style games
- Slot Machine games

Think of what game categories you would like to see something from.

Thanks:)

p.s. Not top of the line 2019 games for Playstation or Xbox.;) Lol
