I don't think it actually opens Safari to show the web view but I did have to re-enter my login info so I'm not sure about that.

That takes you back to the browser view. Any kind of moderation or adding rep points, reporting a post, etc, will have to wait until you can use the browser view. The mobile app primary purpose is to allow you to keep up with the forums while away from your Mac at home or the office. The old app worked the same way. We can always ask our programmer to add things if it's possible to do so. But keep in mind that the mobile app is not designed to replace your browser usage but as a convenience while you're away or on the road somewhere.

Well, I can manually do that on my iPad. Go back to the app when I want to add points or flag spam, I guess. I just don’t always remember, when I go to my Mac.

The ability to add rep points and engage in moderation would be nice but isn't that big a deal for me tbh. If it were an app I paid for maybe I would push harder for those features.

We also have to remember that for all practical purposes this is new app. For me, any improovements that may come are a bonus.

Everybody might like to rate it on the app store. I only gave it 4 out of 5 to make room for improvements which I'm sure will come but I was the only review at the time. Even if it stays as it is I'd be happy. Now if only I could get it to open email links I'd be really happy.

Good idea Rod. I hadn't thouht to rate the app yet. Certainly worth a high rating IMHO.

I have to agree about opening threads from the link in email notifications. Of the possible improvements that have been mentioned I think that one would be appreciated by the most users. followed by the ability to add rep / rate posts. Moderation tools would be nice but that only affacts a small number of people.

Well it would definitely get 5 out of 5 from me if it were possible. One thing I haven't worked out yet is the number on the app. Just now I noticed it had a "one" on it but what does it correspond to?

Another plus, it even works on my old iPad iOS 9.3.5.

I just went to use the iOS app, and it’s forcing me to sign in to the iTunes Store before the app will open, why does that matter? I used it about 2-4 hours ago, so it shouldn’t matter, unless there was an update? Nothing shows in the App Store?

I just tried the Mac-Forums app on my iPad and it did not ask me to sign in to iTunes. However, I do get that every once in awhile with other apps so I wonder if it isn't a security thing by asking to sign in.

Well, last night there were 10+ apps that updated before I went to sleep. This morning Mac-Forums worked again, although it wasn’t one of the apps that got updated.

The only other thing I did was powered off the iPad then turned it back on because another app was telling me “This app is no longer shared with you”.

That could be it. I also turn off my iPad when not in use and notice when I turn it on that I have to enter my code. However, like I said above, occasionally I'm asked to sign in with my Apple ID and password. On my Mac though, whenever I purchase or download something from the App Store, I have to sign in with Apple ID and password.

BTW, I do not use 2FA so that could also be the reason.
