Hi guy's , i apologise if this topic has already been discussed , but i am new to all things Mac , i purchased an Imac recently , and i would like to video my performance playing guitar , but record the audio separately , now i have the equipment to do the recording , it's just knowing how to marry the two together , either in Imovie or Final Cut Pro , any idea's would be gratefully received .

You can do this manually using iMovie (or FCP) and Garageband, and if you'll use one of the classic sync techniques (like a clapboard), you should be fine.

There's a third-party program called DualEyes that does this automatically without clapboard-type sync techniques, works with all the Mac video editing programs and it's very reasonably priced at $149. Not worth it if you're just going to be doing this once in a great while, perhaps, but vital if you do this on a regular basis.

At the price, for people who need to do this regularly it's a steal IMO. Glad you found it useful, I've met the CEO, great guy -- very passionate.
