How to record the sound coming from my computer?
I've tried downloading Soundflower and setting it as my audio input driver in GarageBand.

    It doesn't work!

I need to record audio that's not necessarily coming out of my speakers. Just the noise that would. The audio that's happening in my computer, in other words.

I just made so many songs with Punk-o-Matic 2, and now I can't save them in any way.

This is so not rock 'n' roll.

Try Rogue Amoeba | Audio Hijack Pro: Record Any Audio On Mac OS X. it's not free but handles that task well. It'll do that and a lot more.

Forgot to mention that I have no money.

    Thanks, though.

I've used Audacity for a long time. I don't remember if it was free or not, but it's sophisticated an will do anything you want.

OMG! I just realized that I'm answering an eight-year-old question!

ROTFL. Don't feel too bad we've all done it. I had the same reaction the last time I answered a long-dead thread.

Ahhh… now I'm sure that BudVitoff and Slydude feel greatly relieved and much better now…
