im just dragging avi into toast 7 & it takes forever to encode

what's the fastest way to go from avi to dvd?

ffmpegX is probably the fastest. It's a gui to unix tools, of which, ffmpeg is quite fast.
Drop the avi to the left panel. Select DVD on the right panel. Hit Encode. Come back, use the tools to create a DMG from the VIDEO_TS folder. Then burn the DMG with Disk Utility. A 100% free solution.

why is it that any AVI i convert to DVD with ffmpegX lags and skips, and isnt a smooth video?
im going from avi to either DVD-ffmpeg or to DVD-(the other option that isnt DVD-lo)
