• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Last year I bought 15 episodes of season 2 of Lost off of iTunes. Now they're on my macbook, taking up 2.91 GB of space. I don't want to just get rid of them, but they're taking up way too much space for as often as I watch them!

I was thinking I could put the files on a CD, but I don't think I'd be able to fit very many on one disk? Then I thought I could put them on DVD using iDVD, so I could actually watch them on my TV, but I'm not sure if that would work since they're copyright protected or whatever?? And even if they did, I have a feeling it would take FOREVER to burn over 11 hours of DVD.

Another thing I was thinking I could do is put the files on a DVD. The only blank DVDs I have right now are DVD-RW. Can I use DVD-RWs to put files on, though? I've only ever used them in my DVD recorder to record stuff off TV. It says they have 4.7 GB of storage.

What would be my best bet as to how to keep these movie files?!
