I need to record a clip from a DVD for a video presentation, it doesn't have to be long at all. are there any applications that let you do this? and if not are there any that let you record streaming video from the internet? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The way I'd do it would be to decrypt the DVD then convert it to a Format for which you have some Video Editing Software for, then just cut as you like.
Please note Decrypt your DVD is avoiding the copyright protection and might be Illegal in your State or Country. If so, Do it anyway there not going to find out
and it's not as if you are doing it to make a profit...Is it?
