    Making/projecting a photo slideshow
Hi all. I just want to save myself a lot of grief later by asking experts now. I want to create a slideshow of scanned photos, no audio, to be shown on a screen via HDMI plug and projector from my late 2012 MacBook Pro. Is the iPhoto slideshow app the best way to go? I no longer have PowerPoint. And is there a guideline on how to scan the photos that will result in a uniform look and fairly crisp on the screen? Thanks for any advice.

Did you mean iPhoto or Photos? Both will work fine. You can export from both as movie files for ease of playback.

As for scanning, all I can say is that 300 pixels per inch gives me good results.

Thanks MightyGem. Why did I think iPhoto and Photos were the same thing? Got a lot to learn and am going to start taking albums apart and scanning tomorrow. These will all be pix from Christmases ago to be shown in slideshow format at our family Xmas gathering so I'd best get going. Any tips along the way would be appreciated.

You might also consider using "Keynote" which is a free download from Apple. Keynote has no problem displaying Powerpoint Slide shows.

If you buy Keynote, you can use that to make very good slideshows by itself.
