Screen Recording with Audio, but not hearing it
    All,

I want to do a screen recording but not hear the audio when doing the recording, but still capture it for the recording. So, I think I need another source. Also, doing a screen recording using the Mic, it picks up all the noise in the room.

I've been using Quick Time Player, and have selected several of the different audio sources.... none work.

I have the following options for video that don't work:
    Build in Microphone/Internal Microphone
Mohave Sound Grabber (don't know what this is)
    Sunflower (2 ch)
    Sunflower (64 ch)
    System Audio Recorder

    Solutions?
    Thanks

    Mac OS El Capitan
    Quick Time 10.4

I don't understand what you are trying to do here. You don't want to hear the audio, but want to capture it? Here's a link with a tip to try:
    https://www.cnet.com/how-to/record-y...udio-on-a-mac/

Please verify and include the exact model/year of your Mac and OS X version number (available from "About This Mac", then "More Info" on the Apple menu).

    Build in Microphone/Internal Microphone

That's only going to work for audio that you can actually hear and that your Mac's microphone could use. Not what you want if you don't want to hear the sound.

Goal is to record the video with the audio and not record any sounds in the room. I mentioned I don't want to hear it because I'd be doing something else and just don't want to hear the noise. And later I'd play it when off line.

Your link sounds like the solution but have tried that before. Well try again, I probably screwed something up.

    Thanks

Try some of the hits here and see if any might work:
    https://www.google.com/search?client...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

But I must say, you can add me to the list for not really understanding what you are attempting to do:

And don't forget, you can just turn down your volume or change your output in your Sound preference pane, for even just unplug any speakers/earphones if they are already selected and used for your sound output.

    Pat,

Sorry for not being clear, let me try to explain better.

Goal: Record a video with audio that is received over the net or other source on my computer. This is for playback when I'm without internet.

I really don't care if I hear it, because I can put it in another room while recording. But, I've done that, and the slightest noise someone makes in an adjacent room or shutting a door shows up on the recording. I've tried turning the volume down and it doesn't record the audio then so that won't work. What I've had to work with picks up the same audio I hear or "is heard" by the computer.

The Sunflower thing sounds like it could work and I need to re explore this.

    Thx

    Larry

Why not go through some of the hits that should suit your needs with a Google search in the list from "how to save streamed video mac"???:

Maybe some other members will suggest some better method(s) as I never do any sort of video capture and don't really know how or what you want to do, or your source.

Is it possible to just download the video as a file for you to play back later???
