    Extract Audio from iMovie
I have a great DVD movie of my grand daughter's flute concerto and would like to transfer the audio to a CD for audio playing. Is there a way to do that?

    Thank you

    Lots!!!

Start here maybe, and yes, it is from 2013 so you may not have all the applications mentioned:

And lots of other hits here if you like or need them:

If you take the GarageBand or iMovie route you’ll additionally be able to edit out the audio you don’t want so that you’re left with just the good stuff.

    Thank you Patrick

I used the iMovie approach and did get a file in iTunes. Now I need to figure out how to edit it to "edit out the audio you don’t want so that you’re left with just the good stuff". Can you advise me on that?

    Thanks

update - I figured it out. Clicked the "tune" in iTunes, Clicked i for info > Options and set start time and end time. Both required trial and error but that was easy. I then opened a new play list titled "BURN", dragged the tune there, and clicked Burn playlist to CD so now I have a perfect CD of the piece. Thanks a million Patrick

Good thought. I've done that before but hadn't thought of that. I was thinking in terms of feeding the DVD into something like Handbrake to convert the DVD to a movie then use QuickTime Player to edit and export the audio. Your way will work just as well.

Good to hear poppi and well done and you are welcome. I'm glad it turned out so well for you and that was good thinking on your part to do the editing.
