• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi there,

just got a new action cam and had the idea to may be edit the footage a bit. So I looked up an imovie tutorial o youtube and all grinded to
a halt right there....

Already the imovie layout on the tutorial looked different, there were two boxes on the top and the timeline on the bottom, on my mine
it showed only two boxes on top of each other and no timeline on the bottom....please look here->

Your pictures aren't showing up. Have you created a Project? You'll only get a Timeline if you do that.

There's no doubt that if you are starting out with any movie editing, it can be a challenge, iMovie app included. Apart from youtube, where the tutorials are often "out of date"; have a look on the App Store. There you will see iMovie Tutorial apps - some free, some cheap, some expensive. Read the reviews, consider your options. And be sure that you know which version of iMovie you have installed on your Mac. They vary according to your OS for example.
