I have a Magic Mouse 2 that came with my iMac (I think. I do not remember buying it, so it must have been included with that purchase). I do not use it. I prefer a Logitech Marathon M705 mouse.

My question: My wife has a Dell Latitude E6430 with Windows 10. The laptop is not equipped with Bluetooth. Is there a simple way -- a USB dongle? -- that will generate Bluetooth on the laptop and enable it to connect with an Apple mouse?

Thank you.

You want something like this to get you Bluetooth functionality on that Dell.

I tried that last year on a Dell PC without a bluetooth chip but usb thumbdrive instead, and worked, then deleted everything out due to selling the  bt mouse.
techreviewer had a good article how to set up a  BT mouse to windows. you might beed to install a driver for both usb BT and that  mouse.
hope this works

Thank you both. I confess, I have lost my nerve.

Your posts suggest that I'd be fine using the Apple mouse on our Dell laptop, and you are undoubtedly correct. But the more I read on various sites, the more concerned I became that the process might not be seamless. My wife uses the laptop, and she is not into "fussing" with computers. The most technical she ever wants to get is "Where's the ON/OFF button"?

So, I will buy a mouse built for the PC, and put the Apple Magic Mouse 2 back in a drawer.

That's probably a wise idea, because while the Magic Mouse is a Bluetooth mouse, getting a BT dongle for you Dell will make it work. Since it isn't one with the normal left, right click buttons and scroll wheel, it might work kinda goofily. Additionally, one of the nice advantages of the MM is the ability to do gestures which will not work on Windows.

So, in the end, you are better off with a Microsoft or Logitech mouse that's designed for Windows so that "it just works". :)
