Hi,

I am on mac catalina OS. I have tried earlier soundbooster, which seems to work fine but I need to try some other software which would increase the system wide volume. Boom is too expensive for me to try. Do make a suggestion to try something new. At the moment, I am using extensions in firefox to increase the volume of the sound, but it fails on some websites as bit~chute.com where sound stops, and also on facebook, on which it is tricky to use the extension as it provides you a long list of dropdown and you don't know which equaliser to update, so you end up doing all of them unless you hit the right one before the last.

All suggestions welcome.

Thanks & regards.

Tried Boom when it was either free or a free trial.
Ran into problems, can't remember which, but I ended up with a small external USB powered speaker for the YouTube videos with inadequate sound.
VLC lets you boost the sound a bit, so that was OK for videos/audios that would play using VLC.

Since then upgraded to a 2017 MBa and its sound level is fine.
What Mac do you have with low sound?
Is all sound low or just certain videos/audios?

What about a bluetooth speaker? I have a JBL Flip 4 which is portable, rechargeable and has great sound. About £70-80 in UK.
