Wife's MBA acting very slow.

We have recently had the HDD upgraded to 250 GB. I didn't think it could be full already but the storage analysis shows a hashed box at the end and showing about 130 GB available. Is that normal with the hashed box? It took a long time to analyze...a few minutes actually.

Anything else to do? She's basically just using Office and Internet, along with Photos.

Details:

2011
1.7 GHz
4 GB RAM
250 GB with hashed box

I'm a little confused. Can you explain what you mean by ". . . the storage analysis shows a hashed box at the end . . ."?

Please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing, but the hashed box will vary depending on the OS. On my Catalina it's more a gray box than hashed.

Anyway, what version of macOS is this MBA running? What applications are running and how long has it been slow? The MBA was never a speedy machine, so depending on your use case, that's something you'll have to deal with.

When the drive was replaced, did they perform a clean OS install?
