On Safari I often get a pop-up bar just under the webpage tabs that this "webpage is using significant resources (I think is the wording)..." and then the webpage refreshes.

Antyhing I can do to fix the problem?

I have tried restarting the computer but it appears still.

I am not doing anything excessive, in my mind. About 20 tabs open. E.g. Gmail is often a culprit.

You're joking, right? Close those tabs and try again. Why do you need to have that many tabs open?

In Safari Preferences, under Advanced, do you have "Internet plug-ins" Checked for "Stop plug-ins to save power"?

I just counted up the tabs on my wife's browser, 37 yikes !!!!!!!! I have given up suggesting that she close tabs when not in use. Luckily she has a new MBPr with plenty of processing power and we have an unlimited internet plan. I have 2 tabs currently and I just can't work that way but what the heck, se la vie. Happy wife = Happy life.
The point is she doesn't get any resource warnings. She is using Google Chrome though.
It is set to open previous tabs on launch so some of them are doubles which further frustrates me but ........:wink

My current window has 15 tabs in one window and about a dozen more tabs that are pinned. I don't get that error message often. In addition to two or three threads from this site I have several articles mentioned in the RSS Feed (mostly OWC's Rocke Yard blog) and a handful of YouTube video). IWhen I get this error it seems to me that some site is trying to load/autoplay videos or some pf those sites that seem to be more ads than content.

You can't do anything about a particular website using a lot of resources, so Safari is trying to be helpful. It would be good if Safari would jump to the tab causing the issue, so at least you know. On Chrome there is an extension called The Great Suspender that will suspend tabs after some idle time and once you want to use it again you can resume the tabs when you need to use it.

I usually run about 6 tabs normally but will definitely jump up to many times that when I'm doing some active research and then I'll slowly start to close them down as I don't need them.
