As stated, the first update to Catalina is now available for download.

Lots of bug fixes. Please make a backup first before updating.

Yeah, I saw that but thought it would be better to make a separate post in case others have not read what "Life" reported. I haven't downloaded it yet as I still use Mojave on my iMac. I keep Catalina separate on a bootable Samsung T5 SSD that I have.

Oh dear, now I guess I must face the task of upgrading my wife's MBPr, iPhone and iPad. I must admit I had been grateful for the down time between the initial public release and the inevitable release of macOS 10.15.1
She has been nagging me about the update notifications so I suppose I can't put it off any longer.:'(

Does anyone know if the supplemental updates have been incorporated into the current Catalina installer?

The Catalina update went missing from Software Update this morning. When it reappeared it said: MacOS Catalina 10.15.1.

I assume that it means all updates are included. But, I've been fooled before.

And, no, I'm not yet going for it….

I would be surprised it they weren't. Apple in the past has always included any security or supplemental additives to their latest macOS update.

No problems here with the update.

Update: I knew I shouldn't have written that! Now I have reinstalled my scanner drivers everything is ok.

...

Since the recent 10.15.1 I suddenly have the situation that when I do screen print/grab and have it share to ie downloads or desktop, when I'm in a email with an attachment, if I say download to ie desktop or downloads or another folder, if I now look via Finder I can't see the copied/moved/downloaded file, if I go into terminal though and navigate to the folder then I can see the file.

Permissions on the file is exactly the same as other files (created before the 15.1) upgrade.

Anyone else seeing this.

Maybe you could clarify what you mean, I couldn't comprehend anything you said.

I take a screen shot (shift+command+4), and it shows on the Desktop.

Specifically, what steps are you doing

steps...

Example #1
(shift+command+4) then move cursor and select area to snap, this would normally end in a temporary thumb nail shown bottom right, followed by the output fail on the desktop,
well nothing.
now go to terminal, cd to Desktop, ls and ye sure the file is there.

Example #2
open Outlook mail client, find a email with an attachment, click download and say Save As to the Downloads folder, save completes, now open Finder and navigate to the Download folder, no file, go to Terminal and cd to Download folder, ls, and yes sure it is there.

Do they appear if you relaunch Finder?

No...

but here is the interesting thing, if I say open outlook, click on the paper clip to attach a file then i see the files I'm talking about.

So thinking this is a bug or something related to Finder, although saving a screen shot to the desktop, what I see on the desktop (list of files), is that presented via Finder ?

Apparently this isn't a new problem (see My Downloaded files do not show in Finder - Apple Community). Have you tried rebooting as well?

thats the one thing I have not done (been thinking might try), got some downloads running at the moment, will reboot in the morning.

If not a new problem, interesting that it only manifested locally after the most recent patch.

I remember having this issue (or something similar) at work. The IT guys came and ran OnyX, restarted obviously, but it was fixed. This was back on G4 PPC Mac either Tiger or Leopard.

... so i'm reading it probably so difficult for them to reproduce that they haven't fixed it yet either.

DO I HAVE to state how much I hate a Microsoft fix (standard fix all action) was needed to fix a problem on MAC....

Ye a reboot seems to have cleared the problem.
