I am bit behind in upgrading to a newer operating system on my MacBook Pro as was uneasy about high Sierra so held off
now I see that Mojave as been replaced also by Catalina.
have heard lots of bugs Catalina so will not upgrade to that until all bugs are fixed.

my Sierra is working just fine, tho it I may be doing better with newer OS but I don't know where improvements have been made.

for high Sierra, I hope all bugs have been fixed and is safe to upgrade to that. tho I read that safari 12 has new options that go with it. is it necessary to upgrade to safari 12 to use High Sierra?

for Mojave...I would hope that all bugs have been fixed for this one also.

how can one determine if they should just stay with OS that is working just fine? as long as apple supports it.
is there a link or post where I could go to read up on pros and cons of high Sierra and Mojave?

Hi and thank you for your post.

The problem may be more a question of finding a way to Download High Sierra or Mojave.

Technically, all previous versions of the OS are withdrawn when a new version appears.

However, one of our regular contributors, Randy B. Singer, has posted on these forums links to legitimate Apple sites that may allow older versions of the OS to be accessed and downloaded.

I suggest you put him name in the Search box and read his post. Or use Google, but be careful to ensure that these are Apple sites. In fact, I’d try The Apple site first and see if they link to High Sierra or Mojave.

BTW, in my view, Mojave is the better option by far.

Ian

oh my... i totally forgot about that. thankyou so much.
Guess that's apples way to keep you up-to-date regardless of whether there's bugs in the new operating system or not.
I think I would rather get a link from Randy than trying to find a valid site online to download the versions.

I sent a message to Randy but no reply yet.

but found that I could still download Mojave from App Store...which I did. it seems to want me to install now.
but am not ready to at the moment. want to connect with purchased apps to make sure they are compatible without issues.
do I have to re download it when I want to install or can I move to downloads folder. there is no option that I can se to do that.

The installer is not in Downloads, but should be in the Applications folder. I think it is called "Install macOS Mojave" or something similar. You can run that application at any time you want to.

I think what Ian meant was to search for Randy's name here at this forum, then look at his posts for the download sites.

You can look for the installers following the link in Post #1 of this thread: https://www.mac-forums.com/forums/m...amaged-install-macos.html?353204=#post1833569

I did manage to get a copy of Mojave to install but before I do that I would like to go over user manual or some sort of explanation of it.... there is one on apple site for Catalina but not for Mojave. anyone have a link for that?
I like to do a lot of preparatory work before I change OS.

is there such a thing as pdf download I could pursue? I have seen one but on insecure site.
