I am looking for a way to make my Macbook Pro with Mojave have less blue light, beyond what night shift will do. Essentially, I want the screen to have a red tint to it.

On iPhone you can do this through the accessibility menu. I can't seem to find a way to do this on Macbook though.

Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Welcome to our forums.

Try this:

Applications -> Utilities -> ColorSync Utility.app

You may have to experiment a bit to alter the color on your screen. If that doesn't work, there are other apps you can try which are able to alter the color tint of the screen.

Go to Sys Preferences->Displays and choose Color. If none of the profiles there fit your needs, choose to Calibrate and adjust the settings to see if it'll get you what you want. If it does, save that profile and use it. Beyond that, you can't do much else.

Here's something that might get the effect that you want. I'm using the Catalina beta but think the same feature is available in Mojave.

1. Go to System preferences and open the Accessibility pane.
2. Click on the Color Filter tab and check "Enable ColorFilters"
3. Change the filter type from Grayscale to one of the other options.
4. Once you select a color an intensity slider is available to adjust the effect.

I think the same feature is in Mojave but I can't test it at the moment.

Maybe f.lux for macOS will do what you want:

No need for all that. In Mojave, open System Preferences/Displays and look at Night Shift. Set it for whatever you want.

Yes, Jake, except if you look at the OP's message, they said they wanted something beyond what Night Shift would do.

"Beyond Night Shift" is hard to fathom--if you slide the controller to full warmth, the screen becomes positively RED. Redder than is comfortable to use, frankly.

But, as you say, they wanted that and I missed that part. My bad.
