I have been making more use of Notification Center lately and have become aware of an issue that I had not really noticed before. Probably because I have been using Safari as default these last few months but a week ago I changed back to Firefox and realized that Notification Center links like Facebook or Mac Forums still open in Safari.
So I tried to change that but found I could not. It seems that Notifications are generated by Safari and will open in Safari only, no matter what browser is set as system default.
Is this everyone else's take on the subject too, or have I missed something?

Did you select None for Safari in System Preferences > Notifications? Does Firefox show in System Preferences > Notifications?

I have now chosen None as you suggest and yes, Firefox does appear in System Prefs > Notifications. All of the boxes are ticked and Banners are selected.
