Even in the 'root' account I don't have the privilege to add a tag to the directory.

So, before going through all the documentation, I thought I ask you guys a few questions.

Is 'root' in the 'wheel' group. Would adding 'root' to the 'wheel' group make any difference?

If not, how can I get sufficient privilege to get access to UTILITIES settings.

PS Disclaimer - I do know that the UTILITIES folder has to be super secure and I take all responsiblity for any cockups.

Logging on to your machine using the Root account should give you access to just about everything. You may also have to turn SIP off.

However, I would be less than candid if I didn't remind you to make a cloned backup of your machine before messing around with the Root account and SIP. In other words... backup first! :wink

Thanks, completely forgotten about SIP since finally having to move away from Snow Leopard as main installation.
