If you wish to beta test Catalina you can now download the public beta which as of today is the same as the dev beta 2.

Make sure you have a valid backup either with Time Machine or CCC/SD clone. The beta will take around 30-45 minutes to install and the system will reboot 3X. The download is approx 6.5 GB.

So far it looks pretty good and just as Apple has promised, it will not run a 32 bit app. However, it leaves the 32 bit app in place as dormant.

And in case you're wondering.... I installed it on a Samsung T5 USB-C external SSD. :wink

Just downloaded and installed the Catalina beta. If, like me, someone is already in the Mojave beta The software update panel will inform you of the Catalina update. Just below that ion smaller blue letters is a notice about any uninstalledMojave bets that are available. If you're not ready for the Catalina beta choose carefully.

Something I noticed right away after installing the Catalina beta is that if you have a wireless mouse other than the Apple version, it may not work. I had to dig out my wired USB mouse in order to get the cursor to move in Catalina. I suspect that some wireless keyboards other than the Apple brand may also have difficulty working.

Of course this is only an early beta so we shall see what lies ahead in the future. Fasten your seat belts!

I can't test a wireless mouse since I use the Apple one but my Matias wireless backlit keyboard was recognized flawlessly. I didn't do a clean install but might when the final release comes round just to see if it makes a performance difference.
