Cant Backup my iPhone in iTunes Help!

Iphone7, IOS 12.2

Itunes Version 12.9.4.94

IMAC 3.8 GHZ

Mac OS 10.14.4

No matter what I do nor how many times I try and backup to my computer I am constantly getting the error : Cannot back up to iTunes because an error has occurred.

Any ideas.

Okay first things first. When did this start, assuming it worked before?
Are you logged into iTunes with the same Apple ID on both devices?
Are both your iPhone and computer using the latest software versions?
Are you backing up locally (onto your computer) or encrypted backup to iCloud? If the latter check your iCloud preferences on both iPhone and computer, make sure you are logged in on both (again same Apple ID)
Do you have a working internet connection when trying to backup?

In addition to Rod's most helpful suggestions:

Try Signing Out of your iTunes account. Then Sign In again. Perhaps even rebooting the Mac thereafter.

Have you tried restarting either device?
