This will not work in Screen sharing mode. The Keyboard disconnects as soon as you disconnect the screen sharing session.

I do not think there is a way to do this without a keyboard attached to the G5.

Thanks

I guess I don't completely understand what it is you're wanting to do exactly.

And from the lack of replies, I'm guessing that maybe some other members don't either, or there just isn't a proper suggestion.

I don't think that is possible without the keyboard being directly connected to the G5. Screen sharing, is an OS feature, so to use it, the OS needs to load. I don't think you would be able to do any startup key combinations unless you were directly connected to the G5.

I control, use the G5 via screen sharing on the iMac so the G5 shares the iMac keboard and display.

It is connected screen sharing over the network. The Mac PPC G5 does not have keyboard or a monitor. So when I restart the G5 it disconnects the iMac from the G5.

Right, then when the OS loads, the keyboard connected to the iMac is able to control the G5.

In other words, the only way to get into Single user mode on the G5, is to connect a keyboard, and a monitor.

I think so. I don't have a spare monitor, however the G5 does have a blue tooth connection, so possible I could connect the keyboard bluetooth to the G5 and restart from the G5.

Good idea, but did not work. Was able to connect apple keyboard to G5 Bluetooth, and reboot with Command-S but Screen sharing would not work, no network connection.

Can not be done without a direct connection.
