I am running a new (Apple certified refurbished) Macbook Pro (13inch, 2018 with 4 thunderbolt 3 ports 2.7Ghz processor with 16GB RAM) with Mojave 10.14.2. I have had this since mid December and 3 times it has failed to wake up from sleep. It is not a black screen that faces me but one that is chequered with a series of horizontal and vertical lines of 3 different colours. Switching it off and on again sorts it out with no apparent problem. I am not certain whether this is a hardware problem or an OS problem so I may possibly be in the wrong forum!!
When I put the laptop down for a longer period, I leave it connected to a power supply and these 3 problems have occurred when it is put down for a long time ie overnight or when I have done something else for a few hours.
It is the usual problem with intermittent faults. How do I attempt to resolve it? I would appreciate guidance particularly on how to tell whether it is hardware or the OS.
Thanks
