Good morning,

I have an iMac using Mojave 10.14 and have intermittent wifi issues at home. So, as a back up, I have, until last week, used a Hotspot from the IPhone and a Mini Hub from my mobile provider. But as from last week safari cannot connect to any site, saying it cant find the server as soon as I connect to the 4G network. I have no updates for my iPhone to do, I am on ios 12.1.2, nor on my iMac.

The Hotspot works on the iPhone, iPad and an old laptop that I have for some ancient platforms that I have to work on via Windows, but not the iMac!

How do I check what is stopping the connections or find the issue please? I have a lot of saved connections so I dont really want to re-install Safari if at all possible.

Many thanks!

Check your DNS settings (System Preferences>Network>Wifi>Advanced>DNS and see what is entered there for your DNS server. It should be whatever your internet provider recommends, although you can certainly add others. 8.8.8.8 is a DNS service from Google that is pretty good and 9.9.9.9 is supposedly an "anonymous" DNS server that is well rated. The order they appear in the list is the order in which they are searched for website resolution.
