Line Spacing in Mac Mail Mailbox Window in Mojave is "Squished"

I just installed Mojave on my MacBook Pro and I'm now having problems with fonts, especially in the mailbox window of MacMail. The spacing between each line showing my received emails is now almost nonexistent...very hard to read.

I'm in classic mode. I like classic mode because I want the mail viewer under the mailbox list, not side-by-side. If there is a way to set up the non-classic look that way, let me know.

If not, I'd like to have more space between lines in my mailbox email list.

I have Font Agent Pro installed and I'm wondering if it's conflicting with the Font Book that just came in with the new Mojave install. It's likely that I removed Font Book when I installed my previous version of Mac OS, but I don't remember. If you think Font Book is the issue, please let me know how to uninstall it.

Or any other remedies would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Pete

There may something going on between Font Agent Pro and version 9 of Font Book (latest from Apple in Mojave). The latest version of Font Book supports the new Mojave Dark Mode. What I suggest is to uninstall Font Agent Pro to see if that removes the spacing effect you're experiencing with Mail.

It shouldn't matter whether the Mail app is using Classic mode or Standard mode.

I guess I'll just have to live with it for now. I'm a graphic designer with a ton of fonts. I've been using Font Agent Pro for years and don't have time to hassle with switching my font management app right now. But thanks for the reply!

Have you tried using Mail's Preferences > Fonts & colors tab and change the font and or size??

EDIT:
BTW: What version of Font Agent Pro are you using and is it Mac Majove compatible???

PS: An interesting comment about the "Pro" version:
COMPATIBILITY NOTES
mamablair on why version FontAgent 7.1.0 has some problems on macOS Sierra:

With version 7.1.0, they dropped Pro from the name. It's now FontAgent??? Anyway, I got this message when I opened it in Sierra: "macOS Version 10.12 (Build 16A323) is not supported at this time. We are working to add support soon."

Not exactly supportive news I'd say. Bolding mine.

As chscag suggests, your Font Agent Pro may just be the cause of your problem. A bad or corrupt font or misused one can cause all sorts of problems.
