So I just upgraded to Mojave, Mac OS 10.14.1.

I've been using an HP Envy 5660 series printer for years. But now I cannot get iMac (all software current) and printer to communicate.

Anyone else encounter this huge speed bump?

The HP customer service is useless on this issue, as far as I'm concerned.

Anyone been down the same path? Just need to know if it's a dead end, or if there's an appropriate HP driver hiding out somewhere I haven't yet searched.

Don't want to have to buy a new printer if it's not absolutely necessary.

Thanks for attention and time!

Welcome to the Apple/MacPrinter compatibility nightmare!!!

The good news is, according to Apple's older text article, that HP Envy 5660 is Supported, or should be.
See: Printer and scanner drivers for Mac
https://support.hp.com/ca-en/driver...e-printer-series/6809225/swItemId/mp-134736-2
And also read their comments there.

The bad news is, The HP support siteDoesn't seem to show a Mojave compatible driver from what I can see. But that doesn't always mean your printer will not work.

If nothing else, there's the gutenprint site that may be able to help:
Gutenprint Printer Drivers

But REALLY good news is that HP says that printer IS supported in Mohave:
HP Printers - macOS 10.14 Mojave Compatible Printers
https://support.hp.com/ca-en/produc...one-printer-series/6809225/document/c06133734

I hope that helps and good luck.

PS: Check out their other Printer support particles such as this one they link to for your printer:
How do I set up my printer with Apple AirPrint?
Apple AirPrint enables printing and scanning from a Mac computer without installing a driver. Go to Printing with Apple AirPrint (macOS and OS X) for steps to connect the printer and add it to the printer queue.
