Just imagine all the Mac users who have 32 bit apps and apps that are not sanctioned by Apple. They upgrade with no backup, and then learn their favorite apps are dead in the water. I can hardly wait to read the complaining threads....

Good grief, do I sense a wee bit of Masochism emerging in the future???

But it sure bothers me when I read so many comments such as those of Lisa's above that seem to be too typical and the direction Apple seems to be heading and going lately. ie:
Mojave has given me more headaches on my Mac Pro than any version of OS X ever - total - all together!

And where's all the support for many peripherals (printers, scanners etc.) that sometimes never gets fixed, and maybe the hardware/software companies are tiring to keep up with all Apple's updates and changes.

Question: what does Apple do to a basic OS that stops some still fairly recent printers or other peripheral devices from operation??? It's just some communication code that's needed to get any printing done!!! Gheese!!! :p

PS: A bit absurd almost, but our old HP 4ML Mac (Serial connection only) and Apple-Talk Laserjet required, printer driver software is still provided and supported, even with a Mojave 10.14 Install. Bizarre!!!

Especially considering that OS X 10.5.x was the last OS to contain and support Apple-Talk!!!

Or does Apple have some secret that I haven't discovered to use the old HP printer with any of our current Macs or iOS devices???

I'm curious about your "apps that are not sanctioned by Apple" comment though. Are they seriously going to block apps from "unidentified developers" with no override option or something like that?

Apple already makes it difficult to use an app that hasn't been downloaded from the app store or from an identified developer. (Gatekeeper) Word is that they may reject any app that has not underwent Apple's blessing. Right now it's only rumor, but I wouldn't put it past Apple.

+1 unfortunately.

And I haven't been following the Apple rumor mills, but it certainly seems likely going by their recent "Keep the user safe and secure" policy that Tim Cook and others at Apple seem so keen about.

Anyone else miss the days when Apple's Computers and their OS just worked well and were fun to use and even customize a bit, or even a lot, and was even encouraged — THINK DIFFERENT comes to mind eh??
