I have an MBP (MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) with 10.13.6. I've noticed recently that when I return to the Mac after half an hour or so, it takes longer than it used to to wake up. Sometimes around 10 seconds. OK the delay is no big deal but the wake-up time used to be much less. I'm wondering whether this sluggishness is an indication of some problem or other.
Thanks in advance.

It could be the start of an issue. Do you have any windows open or apps running when this happens?

As an experiment, open Activity Monitor, before the next time you leave your MBP. Then when you come back, you "should" be able to see if something is affecting it.

Also, look in System Preferences > Energy Saver, what options have you selected there?

I've been experiencing the same issue with my home iMac. Usually 10 seconds or so after tapping the keyboard before it wakes up. Like you say, not a big deal. But it used to be only a second or two. The iMac in my office wakes up right away. Both fully up-to-date.

Renewed thanks for the suggestion from "ferrerr" regarding the time it's taking for my Mac to wake up. Not altogether sure what I should be looking out for, but the readings at the bottom do not seem to change very much. Typically they are around System 1.73%; User 3.14%; Idle around 95.12%.
