not sure if right place but here i am. i want to use my mac to set up apple id for another person. i do not want it to be connected to my apple id the way family app ids are . can it be done? and how?
The easiest way that I know to do it, is to create a temporary new user account on your Mac. Then sign into that account, and it should ask you to log in, or to create a new Apple/iCloud ID? You may need to use their contact information, so it may not be possible, if they're not there with you?
thx ferrar, well i have the contact info, freelance for the other person. i can try that. i was hoping for something simpler. be a couple of days before i try anything- viewings and funerals to go to.
Most folks use their primary email address as their Apple ID. You can of course use a different address for the Apple ID as long as Apple can reach you at an address you give them. Especially now that all new accounts are automatically required to use 2FA.
What the OP wants to do may not be possible because of 2FA.
