Can someone please confirm how to delete all cache files for Safari?

I am trying to use some online trading software which is not working properly.

All the support team can come up with is to delete all my cache files but this is not working

I have gone to Finder and Library and deleted all that I could see relating to Safari.

Is that it?

Open Safari, go to Preferences and Privacy Tab. Click on Manage Website Data and you can either selectively remove the data associated with the website you are having issues with or remove all. If you remove all, you'll have to sign in again to all of the places you're currently signed into.

If you haven't emptied your trash yet, I'd restore everything you deleted from the Library folder if I were you or restore it from a Time Machine backup if you already emptied the trash. I imagine you may have thrown the proverbial baby out with the bathwater by doing that. Ashwin's advice is all you need to do.

Have you tried top Menu bar, Safari > Clear History?

Also, if you're familiar, you can enable Safari's Develop menu by going to Safari > Preferences, then Advanced at the bottom select Show Develop menu in menu bar.

I am trying to use some online trading software which is not working properly.

My first comment is that I have come across several online "trading" or similar software that is not Safari friendly. Usually, but not always, this because the trading recipient does not have their security up to a standard acceptable to Apple's Safari; or that they simply don't recognise Safari and try too force you to use another Browser.

I have found this immensely frustrating. I don't wish to mention the culprits on a public Forum. I'll only say, it's not that rare an occurrence.

Clearing out all of Safari's caches leaves you with the unenviable task of having to log in to those sites you use frequently because your Mac/browser is not recognised.

As to the "how", have a glance at these articles which takes you through the processes involved.

Thanks to you all.

I previously emptied cache files marked in Safari Folders. What damage could this have done?

Wouldn't that just delete the search or website history as opposed to data associated with those websites?

I doubt any damage, see how Safari behaves and go from there.

Well, that's different. Earlier you said you deleted "all that you could see relating to Safari" in the Library folder, not just cache.

Exactly my concern too.

Multiple Library folders, may have saved OP from disaster?

What version of Mac OS X/OS X/macOS are you running?

I was only pointing out there are different level "Library" folders. System level, and user level.
