I just uninstalled Flash, verified it is NOT installed and the test.pdf continues to display without the image, just the text. So, no difference. Adobe Acrobat works perfectly. So, it's NOT Flash causing the issue.

So… back to the software sleuthing table I guess…

Anything to do with Adobe Acrobat or any other Adobe software perhaps…???

Or is the problem only with the particular sample .pdf file???

I downloaded the test.pdf that the OP posted. Tried to open it in Preview as a pdf, get what he showed in post 1, the text but no picture. Preview (and pdf, for that matter) don't use Flash. What are you using to open the .pdf file?

I likewise downloaded the test.pdf that he posted and it opens fine for me with Preview. And, as I stated above it also opens with Adobe Acrobat. I have Flash installed but like you said, it has nothing to do with opening a PDF. There has to be a reason it's not displaying properly for you and several other folks who replied.

This is somewhat of a mystery.

I just downloaded the test file again but this time I did it from Safari. Again, the test file opens and displays fine using Preview. (Previously, I had downloaded it from Chrome.)

So, it appears we can not blame the browser download.

You might want to let Apple know and provide them with samples and details through their feedback site.

I have already.

Is Adobe Flash installed anyone?

Is Adobe Flash installed anyone? Or, no content blockers enabled?

I have it - I didn't know if you thought the lack of it or the having it might be the problem so I tried to remove and still not working.

I just opened the file with Preview and it looks okay. (I'm using Mojave 10.14.1.) I also opened it with the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader and it looks even better. So... I do not think Mojave is at fault, however, there is something else going on?

Maybe it's model specific then? Which model are you using?

I doubt it. Anyway, you can see my specs below my profile. I'm using a 2017 5K 27" iMac.

And my model is in my specs in the profile, too.
