Hello:

Does anyone know if the "Get Info" window can be unpinned from the top left portion of the screen?

I'd like to see it open in the center of the screen.

Thanks;

RSORLANDO.

Once you open the Get Info for an item you can click on the title of the window and drag it where you want the window to be. When you've gotten the window where you want it let go of the mouse button. The next time you open that same Get Info window it will be in the corner again.

BTW: welcome to mac-forums.com along with the other new members who have just joined in the last day or so as well.

PS: The the reason it goes to the top left portion of the screen is because one normally has a window open in the center of your display that could cover the InfoWindow.

But it sure doesn't take much to move it as Sly mentioned. :Smirk:

Not going to get much help with that attitude.

Anyway, the answer to the question is "no, Get Info always opens in the left-most position it can. If you do Get Info on one item, it is in the upper left, if you do another, it will be right beside that first one. When it gets to the other side of the screen, it will start a second layer of windows offset a bit to the right and down.

Wow, I wonder what brought that rant on??? I sure hope you don't come across something a bit more serious as you may end up going ballistic or even have a heart attack. Not good.

Maybe you could elaborate a little bit more, and I don't see any sort of connection, and I am sure not a fanboy of any OS as you would probably figure out if you read many of my posts. I'm not exactly an Apple fanboy by any means of imagination and I'm sorry you didn't appreciate any of the answers provided, but that's The Way, Apple does it.

And by the way, you may be pleased to know that if you use the "About This Mac", its window will usually open Center screen as Apple assumes you aren't doing anything else with your computer at the time.

PS: do you run and use Linux very much???
