Same thing happened to me with my 20 year old comcast email. I was getting 5-10 spams a day. I hit unsubscribe and it got exponentially worse [30-50 a day]. I just ignored it for about a few weelks and they started going away. Only get one maybe two per day now. Good Luck.

Hey, kilo15!

Earlier in this thread, I was told NOT to unsubscribe because that could make things worse. (I had already sent dozens of unsubstantiated back to the "spammers" before I knew that). But something worked....and now if an occasional one comes in I just delete it. But I, like you, have had this email addy for decades and just out of the blue I was getting these unsolicited emails. I did receive a lot of great info (I always do here) so if it starts up again, I'll know what to do!

Thanks for the reply!

Cheers!

I had always been told the same thing but started using the unsubscribe option some time ago and it certainly seem to work, at least for the legitimate sites that actually honor the request.

I'm also a member of Spam Cop that I'll send some spam e-mail to (using an AppleScript) who may provide a reporting form to report the nasty e-mails to the associated abuse department. At least some of it seems to work and it is worth the small extra effort to me, and hopefully help stamp out some of these spamming *******s. What a waste of bandwidth and resources they can cause!!!
