Upgrading My late 2009 iMac To Mojave

hi guys is there anyway I can run Mojave on my current iMac ?


its got a core i7 cpu
and 32gb ram


its a late 2009 model tho.

im not to worried as its running high Sierra with no issues what so ever.

but if there is anyway It can run the newest software

id be happy to make the move.

my MacBook Pro is running on the latest Mojave version

Every list I've seen says your Mac is not supported. Everything I've seen says the iMac must be 2012 or newer.

• iMac (Late 2012 or newer)

The hang up is probably due to the graphics card not supporting Metal. There is a method for adding Mojave on some unsupported Macs but I have not triedit yet. I don't know how well it performs.

I have a similar 2009 iMac that is officially not supported on Mojave.

and I do think your correct that its down to metal not supported on the ATI card.

thanks for the replies tho guys id be happy to try it if I can get it working as I have my OSX 10.13 on a USB if I have to go back.

The other way to think about it is that our nearly 10 year old machine is running a version of the OS (High Sierra) that will support apps for another 2-3 years and at that point in time, it will be time for an upgrade that will be quite epic from where you are coming from.
