As the subject says, does anyone know about any files that just suddenly appeared as Safari downloads that I received a few days ago that I just trashed, and the next day I got a bunch more.

They all have the filename "partner" and are all just plain documents and zero K in size.

They all seem to come from: https://ads.servebom.com/partner? according to the Get Info.

No big deal, but I was just curious, and they would just randomly appear on my desktop which is my option as a download folder.

This is what some of them show:

Thanks for any info, and my google searches came up pretty well empty, and Malwarebytes finds nothing strange.

But didn't some old tracking stuff download a file with a single pixel or something?? And no. I wasn't clicking on anything at the time they were downloaded.

Just a bit odd and quite unusual to me.

One says Tomshardware, so make something was clicked on while visiting the site? Or maybe it asked to allow Notifications? Look in your browsers Notifications settings, maybe?

No Bob, no sign of anything like that and I've even been back to the sites and they behave normally and nothing downloads.

A bit strange actually, and I haven't been able to duplicate anything like it since.
