App store update in Mojave.

Okay some of the new things I have figured out in Mojave. But one quirk that I have is in the app store where you update apps. Once updated it just stays there and asks me to open the app from there, which i really don't want to do. This one app remains there which is Amphetamine. Is there a fix for this? Thanks in advance.

You are referring to the new App Store, right?

Did you click on your Apple ID at the bottom left side of the new App Store when it opens? From there it will show you all apps that you have downloaded. Each one will have "open" under it. Other apps that you purchased and may have been removed will have a small cloud over them which means they can be downloaded again.

The apps that have "open" under them can be opened from the app store but should be opened from your applications folder or dock. Anyway, what you're seeing is normal.
