If like me you have been testing macOS Mojave Beta on your device and you have noticed the GM version is released today you may want to opt out of the Beta Program.
I know I did so I checked an article I had downloaded some time back on how to do this, see here;https://www.imore.com/how-opt-out-macos-beta-program
But there was a problem. The instructions clearly state; go to the App Store settings in System preferences BUT there IS no App Store icon in System Preferences.
You will not find any joy by going to the preferences menu in the App Store App itself.
Instead you need to click on Software Update in System Preferences. If you guessed this as I did bravo, if not then this post may have been helpful to you.
Clicking on Software Update will bring up the below window. Go to "Details" bottom left in blue text which will show the overlay asking if you want to Restore Default Update Settings, confirm this.

You are now removed from the macOS Mojave Beta Program and you will see a window stating Checking For Updates. If no further updates are available at that time you will see a window as below.

When the GM version is available you will get a notification with the option to update/install or just check the app store occasionally if your Automatic Updates preference is switched off.

Although not affecting me, that’s an excellent piece of advice for those on the beta programme. Thank you Rod.
