I have a 2017 MacBook Air with a 13 inch screen.

Recently I tried switching to an iPad as I got the iPhone X and I am not in need of all the bells and whistles of my computer, but i found that I could not do without typing on the normal keyboard of a computer, and then I decided to install Cloudready to turn my Air into a faux Chromebook.

I did this by deleting my MacOS and my hard drive in the recovery mode and putting a flash drive in with the neverware. It works very nicely since The entire platform is Google Chrome and when not on my mobile device, I only use the laptop to access my browser.

However while trying to play music videos on Youtube and Spotify on my new Mac Chromebook, the Apple Airpods which I paired okay with the device keep making my songs cut off with static especially when I dance around or the laptop moves. It does not have this problem to the same degree on iPhone X. I have heard of others using Chromebook with Airpods and my Earpods also work fine on the computer. I want my Airpods due to the loud sound that they have and the Chrome software makes a much louder sound with music on highest setting than MacOs. I also could not deal with Mac Mojave Beta bugs and didn't want to wait or might want to k*ll time with testing the cloudready until the release date.

Since I had minor trouble on iPhone with my Airpods and it got wet during a storm, can it be realted to thAT OR IS it due to the fact that I chnaged to the chromium os?

Welcome to our forums.

I have to admit this is the first time I've heard of anyone turning an expensive 2017 13" MacBook Air into a cheap Chromebook. Why didn't you just go to Wal-Mart and purchase a Chromebook if that's what you wanted? I'm not going to comment further on this. I think you already know what the problem is. ;D

I am going to guess it just might have something to do with the currently installed operating system. I am not understanding why you didn't just stick with High Sierra - especially since Mojave is not released yet.

Welcome to our Forums. Thank you for your post.

It’s not too late to reverse the whole experience, wipe the hard drive and do a clean install of High Sierra which is a solid and reliable OS.

We could advise you how if you needed any, but perhaps you have already made up your mind on this and prefer to keep things as they are?

Good grief!!! All I can say is that this post by the OP has to be about the weirdest and strangest odd post I have read in these forums.

But at least I learnt that one can actually create a Mac Chromebook and I never knew such a thing could even exist. Quite amazing as to the Apple's equipment ability and what can go through some user people's head. :[

Folks...

The more I read this, the more I have the feeling that we were being trolled. No one turns a perfectly good 2017 13" MacBook Air into a Chromebook. Therefore, this thread is officially closed.

Thanks everyone.
