I don't know what I changed, perhaps adding a Google Chrome extension, but I now get bunches of notifications on my desktop every day. They all have the Google Chrome icon on the left side of the message bubble (see attached screenshot). I have turned the Chrome settings to "Block" notifications, but to no avail.

Does anyone have ideas on how to stop them?

Go to Chrome Settings (CMD + ,) and then search for Notifications which will show you Content Settings, click on that and then Notifications. You will now see all the websites that are allowed to send you notifications. Go ahead and click on the three vertical dots and block all the sites that don't look familiar to you. That should hopefully kill the notifications.

While you may have set the top setting to Blocked, my guess is that if the site is already in the Allow category, it will continue to send and any NEW sites will be blocked. Just my guess, do explicitly blocking a site might do the trick.

Where did you change the “Notifications” setting?

To me, it looks like Chrome is your default browser, and all those Notifications are coming from websites, you allowed to send you notifications.
