Upgrade to Mac OS High Sierra ?.

Hi,
I have the option of upgrading from Mac OS Sierra to Mac OS High Sierra, What do you guys recommend is it beneficial to do the upgrade or stay with OS Sierra ?.

Make up a graph with columns for your pro and con reasons to upgrade or not and you'll get your answer.

And that includes support for your peripherals like AIO printers/scanners etc.

And BTW, don't expect a more recent macOS upgrade to fix any problems you might be having with your current Mac OS Sierra.

It probably doesn't matter much if you stay with 10.12 or upgrade to 10.13
Now if you were on, say 10.9, there might be some temporary reasons for staying with it.
Eventually, upgrading to the latest is inevitable. Your hardware will not last forever. Your browser options will become poor; security issues will abound. Your apps will not do things the newer versions you will be required to upgrade to can do. The longer you wait, the more it will cost you to upgrade apps all at once, instead of piecemeal as each one becomes obsolete.

What I would suggest is...download High Sierra ASAP...before it disappears from the Apple servers. Which it will do...once the next macOS (Mojave) is released.

Good point and suggestion, and then make sure to keep a copy safe and maybe use it to update an existing clone, but do so in another partition or an external drive, and treat it like a BETA OS X and test it.

That would leave the older version intact and easy to go back to using.

In case anyone is interested (in regards to macOS installers)...here's how I organize it (in my "Applications" folder)...and backed up externally.

I do a similar thing but keep them in an "Installer Stuff" folder, that keeps my Applications Folder less cluttered.
As probably noticed, I don't have all the latest "COMBO Updates" included.

PS: Personal reminder for Nick — must delete Lion and Yosemite, God awful OSs and will never be installed/used again I'm sure.

I keep 'em all just in case. Plus I have older computers floating around that these version's just might be the newest version they can run.

My main message to everyone is...whether you decide to install an OS version now or later (or not at all)...download it BEFORE a new OS version is released. Apple removes the previous version from the Apple servers when a new OS version is released. If you never downloaded an OS version before...then you won't be able to when the new version is released. But...if you did download a previous OS version...then it will be in your downloads area should you need to download it again.

And very good advice, and I just got an old retired friend to do just that and the latest COMBO Updates that he has now got safely storred away.

And he did so even though he's on a 15Mbps max download speed connection. But he's a late-70s old retired Canadian Army colonel with a fair bit of patience.

I was a patient recently. The nurse responded to the call button after a long delay. She came in the room apologizing for the wait. I said, "That's why they call us patients." She seemed to like that.
