Hi,

This is my first time posting and I am hoping somebody can give some advice on a problem I have with my Mac. I have an Apple Macbook Pro which I purchased in 2011 which I think runs OSX Mountain Lion. I have auto update disabled.

The problem I have which started out of the blue over 12 months ago is as follows:

On certain websites (Flickr, Google maps, Yell amongst the many), the website is shown on my screen as if the screen is not wide enough for the website page and the page is offset to the right, the right hand side column is effectively chopped off. Initially I tried zooming in and out by using command + -, all this did was to reduce the size of the still chopped off website.

On some websites it doesn't happen, on some it doesn't matter (as there are no links on the right) but for example on Flickr my log-in "button" is on the right hand side which is chopped off. I have got round this by entering the URL of the Flickr photo upload part of the site which then brings the log-in button into view.

I have tried to sort this out and Googling the problem brings up nothing. I have been tempted to update my operating system but this could create even more problems so I have avoided this.

Many thanks

Andy

If you're using the Safari browser that came with OSX Mountain Lion, it's getting old and may not be responding to various display sizes, but you can always increase/decrease the webpage size by click-and-hold on the bottom right corner of the window and drag it to the size that works better for you.

You can also try clicking the green window button and it might resize for you. Otherwise do the click and drag method.

PS: You haven't posted too much here it seems. ;D

Anyway, I hope that helps answer your question.
