Just received , here in Sydney, the G Raid with Thunderbolt 3 16TB bought from B&H. I have an iMac 15.1 27" late 2014 5K Retina, with 2 x Thunderbolt 2 ports. I am running Sierra 10.12.6
I have connected the G-Raid as follows: inserted in to one of the G-RAid Thunderbolt ports is the male end of the Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 female adaptor cable. Then connected to the female Thunderbolt 2 end is an Apple Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 2 cable, which is connected to one of the two Thunderbolt 2 ports on the iMac.
I have attempted numerous times to mount the G-Raid, but it is not recognised. I have disabled my firewall and removable media blocking software (Eset). I have changed connection to alternate ports on both the drive and computer. I have turned on the G-RAID after booting up computer and tried turning on before booting up.
The G-Raid does not appear in Finder nor in Disk Utility. In “About Mac” I see that the Thunderbolt ports do not see the device.
From the "About Mac" - Hardware/Raid Devices, I see "This system doesn't contain any supported hardware RAID devices. If you installed hardware RAID devices, make sure you installed them properly."

I have also tried connection from the Thunderbolt 3 on the G-Raid to the USB port on the iMac- again not recognised. But my standard 4TB G-Drive and a Seagate external drive are both recognised when connected via USB to the iMAc.
I connected the G-RAID to my Macbook Air using the Thunderbolt?USB-C cable and the Macbook immediately recognised it. So the problem appears to be the iMAc.
I did a PRAM reset on iMac (holding Option+Command+ P+R keys)- still does not recognise when connect via USB or Thunderbolt.

Appreciate advice on resolving this issue.

Probably a cable connection or adapter problem. When you use several connecting cables plus an adapter, any one of them not being right will cause trouble. It doesn't appear that you connected the G-RAID the same way to the MacBook Air which may be why it worked.

Thanks. The cables I am using are genuine Apple. I also tried using the Thunderbolt to USB on the iMac using the cable supplied by G-Raid.
