Hi,

is there any way to find files by extension, copy it with directory and with the all content of the folder, where was the file found?

Thanks

You can search for files within Finder. No automatic action is taken for you however. But, enable the Path Bar in Finder and once you find the file, click on it and the full path will be shown to you. Now double click on the folder that holds the file and then copy it to wherever you want.

Problem is that I need to find more than 5000 files in 2500 folders. I need some automatic action for it. Maybe in Terminal is some way to do that, but I don't know how

Is there a pattern to the files? I can certainly whip up a shell script to do this knowing a bit more about what types of files you are looking for and what kind of copying you are doing.

If the extension isn't too common download Easyfind from the app store and do a search for the extension with the dot in front of it. After it has found all files with that extension you can tap on the column header "Where" and it will sort the files by their location. You can then select the files in groups and move or copy somewhere else.
