every time I restart my computer, I am prompted to "upgrade" my old version of ThisLife Uploader - this always leads nowhere - I have tried uninstalling the Uploader, only to be told every time that I can not move it to the Trash since it is still "open".....very frustrating.....any advice? Thanks DR

My first guess is that it is in Login Items. Go to System Prefs > Users and Groups > Login Items tab and remove it and restart.

Welcome to the forum. If what gsahli doesn't stop it, open Activity Monitor, look for it in the Process Name column and highlight it, then click on the "X" at the top of the column and quit or force quit it. Then delete it.

And if it still persists, download and use Find Any File.app (FAF) and search for its name or parts of its name or anything associated directly with it.

From the found list you can select and right-click to Delete or Delete immediately etc.

When using FAF, to get root privileges when searching, press and hold the option key when you click the Find button.
Download it from here:
