I feel like I am the only person having this issue. I have searched and searched for answers for nearly six months on this. Allow me to explain this issue.
I have 2 Apple TV's. 1 is a 1st gen and another is a 3rd gen. My issue lies within the iTunes application. In the screenshot below, the Airplay function at the top bar of the MacOS menu bar (next to clock and wifi option) can clearly find and mirror my SCREEN to my apple tv devices.
However, within my iTunes application, the Airplay function cannot find either device. So the issue seems odd. I am clearly on the same network because my Mac Airplay option can find the Apple TVs with no issue. iTunes cannot. To compound this issue, HomeSharing does not work either within iTunes.
From time to time, I notice that Airplay and Homesharing within iTunes does work but it is few and far between and I cannot pinpoint what is causing this issue to keep resurfacing. I have done restarts, created new test profiles, booted in safe mode, and spoke with Apple support for like 6 hours trying to figure this out to no avail.
I believe the issue is either with iTunes or my machine. I am just not techie enough to figure it out. Any suggestions?
