Hello. I am trying to upgrade this 2011 Mac Air Model A1370 which has OSX 10.7.5 1.8Ghz Intel Core i7 4gbRam

Went to Apple Store and Sierra, hit GET then it is showing:

"We could not complete your purchase. This update requires macOS version 10.8 or later"

I tried running the Software Updates but it is showing as up to date, help please?

Unless you had previously downloaded Sierra you have missed the boat. On release of a new operating system, the older version is culled.

You could download High Sierra but suggest not doing this until it is a few updates iold. Go with El Capitan OS X.11 and get it from this link:-

Don't forget to do a full backup first.

Do you have an Apple ID? If so, when you log into the macOS App Store, you can look on the Purchased page for any Mac OS X/OS X/macOS versions you have acquired, with the exception of Sierra, for some reason, Apple does not want everyone to have this version in their purchases.

That was already mentioned above. When Apple releases a new version of the MacOS...the previous version is usually removed. This has been going on since OS 10.9 Mavericks (4 OS versions ago).

As far as the Apple ID issue. Kind of hard to say. Usually an issue between the owner of the ID & Apple. If it's not being accepted. Maybe it's not 100% correct...or not paired with the proper password.

Man, we've had enough for today, will get some sleep and call Apple support in the morning to sort out the downloading and ID issues, will report back tomorrow.

Went through everything with a mac tech and we could not get it done, he suggested we take to mac store. I tried installing both Yosemite and El Capitan from my discs but it doesn't give the option to install, only goes to IR option.

I recommend you not upgrade.

Lion is a very good software, and you can get some good cash off it if you keep it on an old software. (I think that's the software they came with)

Lion is atrocious - far worse than Snow Leopard OS X.6. Browsers and Security Updates no longer supported by Apple

I know. I own a 2006 MacBook running Snow Leopard. That's my main computer for browsing forums and reading internet. (It only supports Snow Leopard)
