Looking High and Low for new Sierra

I haven't received a notification through App Store Update. Isn't it officially released now?

Not sure I want to do it anyway, but, just sayin'...

It's available at the App Store (just checked). Have you tried entering "High Sierra" into the search field?

Just open the App Store and look under "Apple Applications" on the opening page. Apple did not send out update notices for High Sierra.

I don't recall ever getting notified that a new version of OS X/macOS was available. Point updates to the existing installation, sure, but not major upgrades.

I guess that makes sense. However your computer is "scanned" to provide update notices would have to mean the software to be present to be included in the notices.
