Hi guys, spin up this thread looking for some help:

I purchased a 15'' MBP with TB last week, and I found the following issues:

1. Caps Lock LED light doesn't work. It is always dark regardless of upper case or not.
2. Touch ID doesn't work. When I tried to activate it in sys pref, I always got "The operation couldn't be completed (com.apple.BioMetrics error 1.)".
3. When I was playing Civilization V via Steam, whenever I switched the screen to other applications like Chrome and switched back to Civ V, I got a black screen. The sound was there, cursor was there, but everything else is black.

Anyone has similar issues? Should I wait for a os update to fix the bugs or change my machine?

Thanks!

Welcome to our forums.

I strongly suggest you take it back to your local Apple Store and let them go over it. The graphics error you mentioned is troublesome in my opinion, but being so new, it could be related to something else. Anyway, best to let Apple look at it. If there is a problem, they'll exchange it for you. I guess you know that Apple has extended the return time to January because of the Xmas season.

It is a new MacBook Pro model so it is bound to have some firmware or software bugs which Apple will no doubt be ironing out over the coming weeks and months, but you have a limited window to return your MacBook Pro so I would advise at the very least to take it to an Apple store for an engineer to look at. If they cannot diagnose and fix the problems you are experiencing, it would be wise to return it for a refund or replacement; but I can imagine they must have limited supply right now so a straight-up replacement might not be possible.
