Hey guys! I've got a 2010 MacBook Pro who up to date has taken El Capitan very well. But, since my last hard drive died, I had to get another one and install everything back... and after a while, my computer started crashing with the gray screen warning.

Can someone help me figure out what's going on? :\

The error spits this log after restarting:

The kernel panic report doesn't really show anything definitive that I could see. However, your model MacBook Pro is one which has the problematic graphics chipset (nVidia) and was the subject of a special recall and repair by Apple. I'm just guessing here.... but the graphics (GPU) could be acting up althought the KP report doesn't specify that as the problem.

Try starting and running in safe mode for awhile to see if it panics there also. That could tell us if it's a hardware problem.

That special recall ends this December, so get it to an Apple store or authorized Apple repair place as quickly as you can to have them check it out. I think you can even call Apple to verify it qualifies and just send it in for checking/repair if you are not near an Apple store.

And disconnect USB hubs as you have a lot of things running and Thunerbolt via what? It sure ain't standard and anything additional like that can cause problems.

Just my luck. :/ I was about to post on the iPhone forum because I also have an iPhone 5S with an erratic tapping screen (who wasn't like this at the beginning) and the general consensus is that they're defective by default and won't handle the +7.0 update without getting this and are beyond repair.

I don't live in the States, I can't have Apple recall this machine. Also, this is my only laptop and I use it at work...

If there's nothing on that Kernel error, I guess there's nothing I can immediately do. Just work as fast as possible and get other income to switch laptops before this one leaves me hanging and I lose my current job.

Thanks guys for the sound advices! Even so I won't be able to do much, I'll try to ease up the use of this thing as much as possible before I can switch. :)

And disconnect USB hubs as you have a lot of things running and Thunerbolt via what? It sure ain't standard and anything additional like that can cause problems.

I just noticed all of those USB things... you're right... but curiously, I only got my mouse connected (and often not) and I rarely use the card reader. I do got a truckload of stuff running, though, probably I'm wearing the RAM thin with Chrome alone working with two Adobe programs. I could be overtaxing it.

I'll try to keep my stuff to a minimum and even uninstall some things. Maybe I can give the computer a breather if I'm more organized about the things I'm doing at the same time.

Thanks for the advice again, guys!

If I notice anything strange again, I'll message here!

The Apple extended warranty is world-wide. I had mine done, I took it to an Apple store, got it back in 5 days. I suspect if you are close to an Apple store you could have it done. If you can pace your work to create a small open week...
